The British Sundial Society encourages its members to record the location and description of sundials in the U.K. and Ireland. Each dial recorded is assigned a unique 'SR No.' - an identification number - by the society's Sundial Registrar. Forms to assist with dial recording are available to members and the data from these forms is summarised and published in the printed Sundial Register which is available to members only.
