Dursey Sundial








900mm diameter millenium monument by Turlough Cowman at Dursey Sound at the extreme south-westerly tip of the Beara penninsula between Bantry Bay and Kenmare Bay. This sundial was erected by the National Millennium Committee of Ireland to catch the final sunset light of the Millennium over Ireland at 4.41pm on 31 December 1999. It can be found by the side of the R572 road to Ballaghboy.
