Excavation of an area adjacent to the site of Bremore Castle, Balbriggan, commenced in April 2001 in advance of a large-scale housing development to the north of a medieval complex. Close to the castle a pit was excavated, containing a large amount of late medieval pottery and a slate sundial, of late medieval date. No longer at the site, the dial is now in storage
